John Hejduk (1929-2000)
Hejduk was one of the most influential architectural thinkers and designers of the 20th century. Through his teaching, drawing, poetry and built work he explored the relationship between realism and idealism in architecture and became known as a leading ‘paper architect’ in the 1980s.
”The Feeder“
During the life of the installation, there will be opportunities for events and discussion, Take using one Hejduk’s drawing work and as a one springboard subject from and connecting Hejduk’s his Hanover interest in Masque, scenography, use these narrative, the agency of the architect, and the architecture of Burlington House and 6 Burlingelements to inspire your own Masque which ‘translates’ these elements to create ton Gardens. We translated Sower's Place designed by Hejduk and turned it into a feeding machine for humans. ——named The Feeder. We abstracted mammals' heads, stomachs, breasts, bodies and limbs, used soap base to shape their organic forms.
The Feeder can walk into drought and food lack areas. Its four stomach shape storage tanks can store meat, food, water and electricity, providing emergency resources for people. So you can see we use lively and bright colors, Especially tall body allow people to see its arrival from a distance, bringing happy to people under disaster.
